頭痛や胸痛、腹痛といったよくある症状で患者が来院すると、医師はその症状が危険信号（red flag/warning sigh）をともなうものであるかどうかを確認します。問診や身体検査は、こういった危険信号があるのかどうかを確認するためにすすめられます。
動画をみながら、どのようなred flagが頭痛の場合はあるのか確認しましょう。
いくつかのレッドフラッグについて整理しました。それぞれ、問診の想定質問をあげてみました。想定質問を自分でもつくってみましょう。
感染症をうたがう
発熱や、首のコリ、からだ・関節のいたみをともなう頭痛については、髄膜炎などの感染症をうたがいます。
想定質問:
Do you have any other symptoms?
（ほかになにか症状はありますか）

（熱はありますか）

脳神経系の疾患をかんがえる
片側だけに麻痺や運動障害がみられる場合や、言語障害や視覚障害については脳神経系の疾患の可能性をかんがえます。

発症時の行動から脳血管障害の可能性をさぐる
発症時に運動など血圧が上昇するような行為をしていると、脳内出血をおこしている可能性をかんがえます。

患者が50歳を超えている
患者が50歳を超えている場合は、からだにさまざまな問題がおきている可能性があるので、気をつけます。

頭痛のパターンがかわった場合
慢性的に頭痛をかかえている患者の場合、いままでと頭痛の痛み方がかわったりしたばあいは気をつけます。
